Brian Fletcher over at Avsim.com have just had his review of FSDS 3 published. It´s an interesting read, but I have to quote him here. Being a keen Gmax user this line is quite amusing;
"Those people who have created highly detailed aircraft and scenery objects with Gmax are a breed of their own who have most likely spent many years mastering the program"
...a breed of their own... well, it´s not what I thought about myself, but it is probably true! :-) Thanks, Brian!

Happy new year!
Hi and have a lovely future! As I write this news of the next version of FS - or rather info on that there will be a new version - is just a few days old. Good for us all, or rather exiting! The screens available show a sim that at least looks better, but apart from this we do not know much else. Digging deeper into the vast resources that are available (and trying to filter what is total b-s-h-t) reveals some interesting details, like that FS X is developed "for Vista, but towards usage based on DirectX". What does this mean? Well, not many of us can tell, and those who do know are not allowed to tell. My guess is that the next version might - or might not - be a development of the current engine. Does that make you more enlightened? No, and be prepared to read all kinds of speculations until we get the answer, when FS X is released "in the holiday season" - to me that might aswell be next weekend! :)
If I can get one wish fullfilled, it would be native support of physics-cards, so that we can move complicated calculations to those separate PCI-addin cards (that none of us have). Then we can dream of having the grass behind our Cessnas waving as we start the engine. Man, that would be sweet!
SweClass is out, together with Danclass, a landclass for Denmark. And it has been applaused, not slayed. I´m amazed, I was certain that I would get a bucketful of critisism for not having placed Bollnäs (just an example) just right... Well, thanks! I will make an SDK, and a new version in due time, and together with Lennart´s new textures - ScanTex - your landscape will be amazing! Right?
